2 Kentucky Agents Sentenced for Workers’ Compensation Fraud
Two eastern Kentucky insurance agents and an agency employee have been ordered to pay fines, serve probationary sentences and perform public service work on their guilty pleas in a fraud case.
The sentences were given to CS&W Insurance Services owner Thomas J. Childers of Hazard, agent Karen Lynetta Fox-Burns and customer services representative Shannon Ranee Hogg, who The Lexington Herald-Leader identified as Fox-Burns’ daughter.
All three pleaded guilty in April to one count of misprison of a felony.
They were accused of lying about the number of workers a client employed and the size of the company payroll to get a lower workers’ compensation premium for him.
