North Carolina Emergency Management Achieves Accreditation
North Carolina’s Emergency Management program has been granted full accreditation by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program.
Crime Control and Public Safety Secretary Bryan Beatty made the annoucement on Oct. 14. The review is a voluntary process that evaluates planning, training, communications and warnings.
Beatty said earning national accreditation is a tremendous achievement which confirms that the state has one of the best programs in the country for dealing with disasters.
The division began the accreditation process in June 2007.
