Mississippi Highway Patrol Tickets 5,000, Arrests 40 over Holiday
The Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol says it issued more than 5,000 tickets over the Fourth of July weekend.
The counting period began at 6 p.m. July 3 and ended late July 6.
The tickets issued include: 134 for driving under the influence, 229 for failure to wear seat belts and 87 for failure to use child restraints.
Highway patrol officials also arrested 40 drivers.
