Tennessee Gov. Vetoes Williamson County Bill, Citing Safety Rules
Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen vetoed a bill that would have exempted a church-operated school in Williamson County from statewide building construction safety standards.
Bredesen said in his veto letter dated June 13 that the measure would erode building and fire code protections.
The school was not identified.
In May the governor vetoed a similar bill involving at least two schools in Henry County.
