Possible Tornado Damages Dozens of Mobile Homes in Florida
Florida officials said a possible tornado that moved through northern Lee County damaged about 50 mobiles homes, but no one was seriously injured.
North Fort Myers Fire Chief Terry Pye said at least eight homes were heavily damaged, and at least 40 more had minor damage from the storm June 8. Pye says one person suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.
The National Weather Service said a tornado was spotted by radar about 5 p.m., and law enforcement officials also reported a tornado sighting above North Fort Myers. A tornado warning was issued for northern Lee County expired at 5:45 p.m.
