Federal Loans Available to Mississippi Flood Victims
The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have opened offices for Mississippi flood victims to apply for assistance.
Those affected by the flooding Mississippi River can apply for disaster loans. To be considered for additional grant assistance through FEMA, homeowners and renters must submit an SBA loan application.
The offices in Bolivar, Warren, Washington and Wilkinson counties will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Offices will be open on Memorial Day.
Businesses in counties contiguous to the primary flooding area may also apply for assistance. Those counties are: Adams, Amite, Claiborne, Coahoma, Franklin, Hinds, Humphreys, Issaquena, Sharkey, Sunflower and Yazoo.
