Former Miss. Insurance Commissioner Joins Adams and Reese

Former eight-term Insurance Commissioner of Mississippi, George Dale, joined Adams and Reese LLP as a Senior Governmental Affairs Advisor (non-lawyer) and a member of the Governmental Relations.

Adams and Reese Managing Partner, Charles “Chuck” P. Adams Jr., said Dale’s accomplishments, knowledge of the insurance industry as well as the governmental process will further enhance the firm’s insurance and governmental relations practices.

Dale was a teacher, coach, and school administrator in the Moss Point public school system prior to entering state government in 1972. Elected as Commissioner of Insurance in 1975, he became the youngest insurance commissioner in Mississippi history. Upon completing his eighth term, Dale was the longest-serving insurance commissioner in the U.S.

Political leaders are no strangers to Adams and Reese. Dale joins several Adams and Reese attorneys and advisors who previously held or currently hold public office: James “Jimmy” A. Hayes, former U.S. Congressman, is in the Washington, D.C. office; E. L. “Bubba” Henry, former Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives, is in the Baton Rouge office; Ronald J. Sholes, former Civil District Court Judge for the Parish of Orleans, is in the New Orleans office; Mark L. Gaines, former judge and Alabama State Rep., is in the Birmingham office; and William R. Bruce, former Tennessee State Representative and State Senator is in the Nashville office.
