Contractor Arrested on Katrina Fraud Charge in Miss.
A Massachusetts contractor has been arrested on a felony fraud charge related to Hurricane Katrina recovery on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Daryle Arthur Jager, 47, of Somerville, Mass., is accused of taking $7,000 from a Diamondhead woman, failing to do any work to repair her hurricane-damaged home.
Jager was arrested Tuesday at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport as he was boarding a plane for Boston. He appeared before Hancock County Justice Court Judge Ricky Adams, who set bond at $10,000.
The Mississippi attorney general’s office and auditor’s office investigated the case.
