Ky. Gov. Reappoints Judge to Dept. of Workers Claims
Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher announced the reappointment of Madisonville Judge Richard Joiner as an administrative law judge in the Department of Workers Claims.
An administrative law judge conducts conferences and hearings to decide disputes arising under the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Act. These issues include disputes about entitlement to and amount of income benefits, disputes concerning reasonableness and necessity of medical benefits, and disputes arising as a result of the Commissioner’s investigation of alleged unfair practices.
Joiner has served as administrative law judge in the Office of Workers’ Claims since 2001. Before this, Joiner worked as the managing attorney of Mitchell, Joiner & Hardesty P.S.C. and was member/manager of Midsouth Infotech Services LLC in Madisonville.
