At Least 4 Dead in San Antonio and Dozens More Rescued After Heavy Rain

At least four people are dead in San Antonio and dozens of water rescues were made around the city after heavy rains flooded highways and stranded motorists, officials said Thursday.

Fire officials said they are still searching for two people who are missing. Calls for water rescued began shortly before sunrise, according to the San Antonio police department.

Excessive rainfall is likely across parts of the southern Plains over the coming days, the National Weather Service said.

Multiple rounds of storms with heavy rainfall will be fueled by a moist low level jet, NWS said. The weather agency forecasts 2 to 4 inch rainfall totals across the ArkLaTex region and 3 to 5 inches for parts of southeast Texas through late Friday night. Severe thunderstorms are also possible.
