Texas Water Development Board OKs $41M for Water, Flood Projects
The Texas Water Development Board on Wednesday approved $41.5 million for water, wastewater, and flood projects.
Following is a breakdown of that financial assistance:
- $35 million to the Green Valley Special Utility District (Guadalupe County) for wastewater system improvements
- $5 million to Wharton (Wharton County) for a drainage improvement project
- $1 million to the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District (Armstrong, Carson, Donley, Gray, Hutchinson, Potter, Roberts, and Wheeler counties) for an agricultural water conservation loan program
- $300,000 to the Evadale Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Jasper County) for water system improvements
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The TWDB administers financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control and agricultural water conservation projects.
