1 Injured, Cars Damaged in Scaffold Collapse at New Orleans Four Seasons Site

A section of scaffolding at the Four Seasons Hotel construction site in New Orleans collapsed onto at least a dozen cars on Feb. 5, leaving one person injured, as thunderstorms and high winds moved through the area.

The scaffolding was part of a pedestrian walkway alongside the construction, news outlets quoted New Orleans Homeland Security Director Collin Arnold as saying. One person was taken from the site and hospitalized with minor injuries, said New Orleans emergency services personnel.

High winds also shattered two revolving doors at office buildings in the Central Business District. Video shows the doors turning then the glass shattering. No injuries were reported.

The Times-Picayune/ The New Orleans Advocate reported pea-sized hail was seen in the Central Business District. The National Weather Service advised people to stay inside until the storms passed.
