Nichols Exiting Role as Workers’ Comp Manager at Insurance Council of Texas
Steve Nichols, manager of Workers’ Compensation Services at the Insurance Council of Texas (ICT), is moving on to pursue other opportunities, the insurance trade organization reports.
Nichols has been with ICT for 19 years; his last day will be Sept. 25.
He monitored the Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission and now Texas Department of Insurance-Division of Workers’ Compensation matters for ICT members who write workers’ compensation insurance, prepared various workers’ compensation publications, and helped develop workers’ compensation member education events. Nichols worked to ensure ICT workers’ compensation members were up-to-date on key system issues.
ICT said members who write workers’ compensation insurance will continue to:
- Receive timely updates on TDI-DWC regulatory issues and legislative issues affecting workers’ compensation
- Be represented at TDI-DWC on administrative rulemaking and other issues
- Receive workers’ compensation publications such as the Quarterly Regulatory Update, Monthly News Digest, summaries of the TDI-DWC quarterly carrier meeting, and the annual report on workers’ compensation, and
- Be able to attend workers’ compensation member education events, such as the annual seminar and conference
ICT said it will also continue to keep its Workers’ Compensation Committee engaged for input and guidance on system issues as well as rulemaking.
