2 Wanted for Auto Insurance Fraud in Louisiana; Public’s Help Sought
Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit – Houma Field Office are asking for the public’s help in locating three people wanted for felony fraud in a case involving an alleged staged U-Haul vehicle crash.
Two others have been arrested in connection with the staged crash attempt.
In May 2018, 53-year-old Bonnie Brien of Gray, 32-year-old Ashley Burnett of Houma, and 51-year-old Fredericka Burnett of Houma, conspired and participated in a staged U-Haul vehicle crash in Terrebonne Parish, the LSP said.
The conspirators who participated in the staged crash attempted to deprive Republic Western Insurance Co. in the total amount of $10,349.75.
Troopers said 34-year-old Heather Thibodaux and 42-year-old Germaine Johnson were also involved in the fraud. On Feb. 7, 2019, troopers located and arrested
Thibodaux and Johnson were arrested in February 2019 at their residence in Houma and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Center for violation of Automobile Insurance Fraud and Injuring Public Records.
Ashley and Fredericka Burnett and Bonnie Brien remain at large. They each have active warrants for automobile insurance fraud and injuring public records.
