Arkansas Sees Uptick in the Number of Insurance Agents/Agencies
There was a 10.8 percent increase in insurance agent licensure in Arkansas in 2018 over the previous year, as well as an uptick in the licensing of insurance businesses, the state insurance department announced.
At the end of 2018, the Arkansas Insurance Department had licensed 135,291 insurance producers and adjustors, an increase over the 122,053 at the end of 2017. The number of resident licenses also increased to 20,560 from 20,308. Since the end of 2014, the number of licensed producers and adjustors has jumped from 87,380, an increase of 54.8 percent.
Licensed business entities also increased with 9,723 licensed as of Dec. 31 — a 4.9 percent increase of the 9,269 licensed at the end of 2017. Since the end of 2014, the amount of licensed business entities has increased 39.6 percent from 6,967.
