Texas Nurse Sentenced on Workers’ Comp Fraud Charges

Texas Mutual Insurance Co. has reported that a Travis County district court sentenced Kaydra Moore of Cedar Hill, Texas. on workers’ compensation fraud charges.

The court sentenced Moore to a Class A misdemeanor with one year deferred adjudication. She will pay $8,873 in restitution to Texas Mutual.

According to the insurer, Moore reported a job-related injury while working as a nurse for Tinsley & Associates LLP and claimed she was unable to work because of the injury. Texas Mutual began paying income benefits to her, but it was then discovered that she was working as a nurse for another company.

The Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation prosecutor in Travis County presented the case for indictment.
