Heavy Rain Dumped by North-Central Arkansas Storm
Storms moved across northern Arkansas, dumping heavy rain and causing flooding in the town of Clinton.
National Weather Service meteorologist Sean Clarke in Little Rock says 5.1 inches of rain fell in about a two-hour period Sunday night in the town of about 2,500, about 60 miles north of Little Rock.
Clinton Mayor Richard McCormac said an unknown number of homes and businesses received flood damage and some streets are closed because of damage and high waters.
Clarke said winds of at least 60 mph damaged mobile homes and downed trees about 20 miles southwest of Clinton, but no injuries are reported.
