Texas Accepting Input on Amendments to Agent Licensing Rules

March 12, 2018

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) published proposed updates to Chapter 19 of the Texas Administrative Code, regarding agent and adjuster licensing and continuing education requirements on March 9 and is accepting written comments on the proposals.

If adopted, Chapter 19 of the Texas Administrative Code will be revised with lists of necessary data that must be included in license applications, along with information concerning the specific types of new entity and individual applications that can be submitted to TDI.

In addition, the rule could be updated to show that certain license holders must achieve fewer hours of continuing education credit than was previously required.

Any written public comments on the proposed sections will be accepted by TDI until April 9, 2018.

TDI currently licenses more than 300,000 Texas resident individuals.
