Rodeo Promoter Resolves Lawsuits Against 2 Texas Cowboys Over $1M Prize
Lawsuits alleging two calf ropers rigged a 2015 Texas rodeo to share a possible $1 million bonus prize have been dismissed following undisclosed settlements.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports settlement details weren’t released in a rodeo promoter’s lawsuits against Tuf Cooper and Timber Moore. Tarrant County court records show the cases were closed.
RFD-TV Events in August sued over the March 2015 event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington in an attempt to recover some prize money. The lawsuit alleged Cooper and Moore intentionally let another competitor win first place in an effort to share some bonus money.
Moore attorney Rick Hagen says the parties resolved the dispute to each’s satisfaction. He declined further comment.
Messages left for comment Wednesday with RFD-TV Events and Cooper weren’t immediately returned.
