North Texas Man Awarded Nearly $34M in Skylight Lawsuit
A Tarrant County, Texas, jury has awarded a man almost $34 million for injuries he sustained after falling through a skylight while working on a roof.
Attorneys representing 31-year-old Steven Landers had sought a $15 million judgment against skylight manufacturer Wasco Products, but jurors awarded Landers $33.8 million on April 2.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports 31-year-old Steven Landers’ broken right leg eventually was amputated from the 2010 fall. His back, some ribs and his left arm were broken. One of his lungs was punctured.
The newspaper says Wasco’s attorneys couldn’t be reached for comment. A message seeking comment from the company was left early.
