Distracted Driver Blamed For Louisiana Lake Wreck
Three people jumped into a Baton Rouge, La. lake after watching a vehicle get rear-ended and careen into the water.
WBRZ-TV reported the St. George Fire Department said there was only one person in the vehicle, the driver, when it was hit Monday and driven into the water outside the entrance to the Lexington Lakes subdivision.
District Chief James Newman says three people driving by as the wreck happened stopped, jumped in the water and pulled the driver out. He says the car’s driver was on the bank when they arrived.
State police are handling the investigation. The driver who rear-ended the vehicle was cited with careless operation. Investigators believe the unidentified driver was likely distracted.
