Overdue Work Comp Premiums Add to Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame Woes

November 26, 2014

The lawyer for an insurance company says the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is behind on its premiums and that his client has the right to seize the nonprofit group’s assets.

Rick White says State Farm Insurance is owed $11,114 for overdue workers’ compensation premiums — nearly $3,000 more than that demanded from the company in January 2013.

White told the Tulsa World that he has considered taking a truck to the Hall of Fame and loading up its assets.

The hall’s director blamed a sudden increase in premiums and said the bill would be paid by the end of the year.

The museum has had other financial problems over recent years and has modified its lease to help make ends meet.
