Oklahoma Homeowners Benefit from Improved Fire Protection Rating
Homeowners in eastern Cleveland County in Oklahoma could soon pay less for property insurance as result of an improved Public Protection Classification (PPC) for the Cedar Country Fire Protection District, the Oklahoma Insurance Department announced.
The Insurance Services Office (ISO) reviews fire prevention and fire suppression capabilities of fire protection areas on a scale of one to 10. Class 1 generally represents the best fire protection. Class 10 indicates that the area’s fire-suppression program doesn’t meet ISO’s minimum criteria.
The Oklahoma Insurance Department works with communities and fire departments to improve their PPC. The Cedar Country district improved from a Class 9 to a Class 6.
