Lawmakers Tour Refurbed Oklahoma Workers’ Comp Building

Several state House members toured the newly renovated headquarters of the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission.

About a half dozen Republican members on Tuesday visited the renovated third-floor of the Denver Davison Building in Oklahoma City where the commission is now housed.

The Legislature last year approved a bill to transition Oklahoma’s workplace injury benefits processes from a judicial workers’ compensation system to an administrative one. Supporters of the Republican-backed plan say the new system will allow employers and employees to amicably resolve disputes and get back to work more quickly.

The commission was created for workplace injuries and illnesses occurring on or after Feb. 1, 2014.
