Louisiana Senators Subpoena Report on Benefits Office
State senators in Louisiana have subpoenaed Gov. Jindal’s administration, seeking a report about the governor’s efforts to hire a private company to run a state worker health insurance program.
The Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee approved the issuance of the subpoena on June 8, a week after the governor’s top financial adviser, Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater, told the panel they could see the report. Sen. Ed Murray says a copy still hasn’t been provided.
The administration has 24 hours to turn over the report under the subpoena.
The report, by New Orleans-based Chaffe & Associates Inc., was designed to help the Division of Administration determine the fair market value of the insurance program in the Office of Group Benefits.
Multiple requests by The Associated Press to see the Chaffe report have gone unanswered.
