Louisiana Agent Told to Stop Selling Insurance
A West Monroe agent was served by the Louisiana Department of Insurance Fraud Section investigators with a cease and desist order, license revocation and $5,000 fine notice for alleged misappropriation.
Jennifer Dianne Jerkins, 30, was terminated from an insurance company in 2009 for allegedly misappropriating $1,800 in premiums, according to the insurance department. She also allegedly misappropriated approximately $1,200 from a previous employer.
Department records show that Jerkins was issued a Property/Casualty license in March 2001, which was valid until the current suspension. Records show she also held a Life, Accident and Health license from April 2001 through April 2010.
Jerkins’ Property/Casualty license will be revoked in 30 days unless she requests a hearing with the Department of Insurance to contest the regulatory action taken against her.
