Louisiana Non-Resident Producer Licensing Goes Fully Electronic Jan. 1
The Louisiana Department of Insurance is reminding insurers and agents that all non-resident licensing and license renewal requests must be submitted electronically beginning Jan. 1, 2010.
The LDOI says the changes are due to the high volume of requests made annually for revisions to information maintained by departmental databases. The department handles more than 550,000 such requests per year.
The department accepts electronic non-resident license applications and renewal request through the National Insurance Producer Registry and its authorized business partners. After Jan. 1, any non-resident licensing or renewal request received in paper form will be returned to the submitter unprocessed.
NIRP and a list of its authorized business partners may be accessed online at http://www.nipr.com/authorized_business_partners.htm.
