Louisiana Agent Told to Stop Doing Business in State
A Crowley, La.-area agent was served by Louisiana Department of Insurance Fraud Section Investigators with a cease and desist order, notice of license revocation and a $10,000 fine notice for alleged misappropriation, theft and forgery.
Julia Katherine Moore, 25, is alleged to have completed and signed approximately 187 bogus applications for insurance coverage from which she received approximately $51,463 in commissions. State Police arrested Moore in February 2009 on 188 counts of theft and 188 counts of forgery.
Department records show that Moore was issued a Life, Accident and Health license in March 2006, which lapsed in April 2008.
