White House OKs Increased Funding for Gustav Infrastructure Repairs
Bush administration has approved an increase in federal funding levels for infrastructure repairs in Louisiana after Hurricane Gustav.
The announcement by the White House calls for the federal government to cover 90 percent of the total eligible costs for a Gustav-related public assistance project. That’s up from the 75 percent share that the federal government had agreed to pay.
Louisiana sustained billions of dollars in damage from hurricanes Gustav and Ike in September.
