Four Arrested Following LSU Stadium Fire
A witness who spotted a group of suspicious people near Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium provided police with key information that led to the arrests of four juveniles following a fire at the stadium’s concession office, authorities said.
LSU police booked three juveniles with trespassing and a fourth with simple arson on Aug. 21, Police Chief Ricky Adams said. A fifth arrest for trespassing, also involving a juvenile, was expected, Adams said.
The youths ranged in age from 9 to 15, Adams said. The oldest was booked on the arson count.
A fire broke out Sunday evening in the stadium office, leaving behind an estimated $300,000 in damage. About the time smoke began appearing outside the stadium, a passing motorist saw a group of youths and contacted police, Adams said.
Baton Rouge police later stopped the group and interviewed them and their parents, which led to the arrests, Adams said.
