Universal Holdings Creates New Personal Lines Insurer for Texas
Universal Insurance Holdings of North America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Universal Insurance Group based in Puerto Rico, announced the creation of Universal Insurance Company of Texas (UICTX).
“This is a continuation of Universal’s strategic expansion plan into the North America personal lines market,” states Rick Espino, president. “The creation of UICTX is a project that we have been working on for quite a while and we are excited to have reached this point. We believe that our group’s financial strength, coupled with the local knowledge of our San Antonio based operation, will provide our customers with the highest level of security and customer satisfaction. Universal’s goal is to build the same franchise trust in Texas that we have enjoyed in our other markets.”
To accomplish this, UICTX has named Katherine Moore vice president of Texas operations. Moore’s extensive background in the Texas personal lines market is a perfect fit to assist the company in realizing their goals.
Founded in Puerto Rico over 30 years ago, in 2004 UIG expanded its market and formed the local insurance group known today as Universal Insurance Company of North America. Shortly thereafter, the creation of UICTX took place in 2005.
The company can be reached at (210) 558-2828.
