TWCC to Hold Oil and Gas Safety Seminar in Houston
The Workers’ Health and Safety division of the Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission will present a one-day educational seminar on Introduction to Oil and Gas Safety on April 27, 2005, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The seminar will take place at Embassy Suites, Embassy Room 2, 9090 SW Freeway in Houston. The cost is $99 per person. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
While working in the Texas oil and gas fields, workers encounter many hazards that can cause injuries and occupational illnesses. This course is designed to introduce business owners, supervisors, health and safety managers, and employees to industry specific safety programs and the seven steps of accident prevention planning. The course also will cover personal protective equipment, confined space entry, hazard communication, control of hazardous energy, and prevention of slips and falls on work surfaces.
