Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines Group Appoints Alva SVP of Underwriting to Lead Cyber Business
Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines Group (CPLG), a member of the Tokio Marine HCC group of companies based in Houston, Texas, appointed Brian Alva as senior vice president of underwriting to lead cyber & tech underwriting.
Alva brings more than 15 years of cyber and professional liability experience, with a career spanning underwriting leadership, portfolio strategy, product development and distribution. He joins CPLG from Travelers, where he served as vice president, specialty cyber, following senior leadership roles at Corvus Insurance and NAS Insurance Services. Alva also spent nearly nine years with NAS Insurance Services, now part of Tokio Marine HCC, where he helped grow the organization’s cyber and professional liability business and expand its underwriting presence nationally.

Marsh appoints Brito as Marine, Cargo, and Logistics Practice Leader, US and Canada, Marsh Risk
Marsh, a leading global professional services firm, appointed Herman Brito as marine, cargo, and logistics practice leader, U.S. and Canada, Marsh Risk, effective October 1. Based in New York, Brito will report to Michael Pellegrini, head of specialty, U.S. and Canada, Marsh Risk. Brito succeeds Janice Kowell, who will remain part of the senior executive team.
Brito will be responsible for delivering tailored risk advisory and insurance solutions to Marsh’s maritime, cargo, and logistics clients throughout the U.S. and Canada. He brings nearly 15 years of marine insurance brokerage experience, having progressed through Marsh in roles of increasing responsibility. He most recently served as the Canada and US East Zone marine, cargo and logistics practice leader, Marsh Risk.
