Markets/Coverages: CFC Brings Affirmative AI Cover to Media Companies; Lockton Launches Global Data Centers & Digital Infrastructure Practice

July 29, 2026

CFC, the specialist insurance provider, announced the introduction of affirmative AI coverage within its media policy, effective July 30.

The update forms part of CFC’s wider program to embed affirmative AI coverage across its portfolio, ensuring customers have clear, explicit policy language that reflects its growing use.

As AI-assisted content creation becomes increasingly routine within media, publishing, marketing and creative services, businesses are seeking greater certainty of AI-related liability exposures. Where AI has contributed to content creation, the policy can still respond to defamation, IP infringement and other media and professional liability claims.

Alongside the media liability enhancements, CFC has also updated the policy’s cyber coverages with affirmative AI language. Insureds now benefit from the same level of cyber protection available through CFC’s flagship Cyber Proactive Response (CPR) product.

With more than 20 years’ experience serving media and entertainment businesses, CFC’s media policy was designed to reduce coverage gaps by bringing together a broad range of protections within a single solution. The policy combines multimedia and professional liability cover, including defamation, intellectual property infringement and contractual liability, with cyber and privacy protection and general liability cover. The introduction of affirmative AI coverage builds on that foundation.

Lockton Launches Global Data Centers & Digital Infrastructure Practice

Independent insurance brokerage Lockton said it launched a global data centers & digital infrastructure practice, a consultative practice helping organizations navigate the complex risks associated with the infrastructure that stores, processes, and moves information around the world.

The specialty practice builds upon Lockton’s experience supporting complex digital infrastructure risks globally, including hyperscale campuses, multi-building developments, phased construction programs, operational portfolios, and power-related infrastructure.

The practice combines risk strategy, analytics, engineering insight, and market expertise into a single advisory model and serves the full ecosystem, including owners, operators, developers, investors, hyperscalers, and technology providers. The team supports clients from project planning through construction, operational launch, portfolio expansion, and ongoing risk management. Solutions will be customized for each client’s needs, and the new practice provides a suite of innovative products and proprietary solutions.

The practice will be led by James Nelson in the United States and Sam Baker in the United Kingdom. Nelson brings deep experience in risk advisory, consulting, and insurance. Most recently, he served as global head of client engagement at Eldin Risk, and he previously held roles at Marsh, Cerberus Capital, and Alvarez & Marsal. Baker has been at Lockton for 13 years advising on innovative insurance solutions for clients throughout the world. For the past few years, he has been at the forefront of the creation of Lockton’s proprietary product offerings for data centers.
