WR Berkley Reports Q2 Net Income Increase of 12.7%
Second quarter 2026 net income at W.R. Berkley Corp. increased about 12.7% compared to the same period a year ago to about $452.3 million.
Operating income for the second quarter was $497.1 million, up from $420.5 million during the same time in 2025.
Underwriting income grew 21.8% to $317.5 million pretax, compared with Q2 2025.
“We continue to see attractive opportunities across select liability lines,” said chairman, president and CEO W. Robert Berkley, Jr. of the company’s first reported quarterly financial results in the aftermath of his father’s death.

“By focusing on business that offers appropriate risk-adjusted returns and favorable pricing, our Insurance segment grew gross and net premiums written by 5.4% and 3.7% (to about $3.43 billion), respectively, to record levels,” the CEO added.
Total accident year catastrophe losses for Q2 2026 were about $62.4 million compared with about $99.2 million during Q2 2025.
During Q2 net investment income grew 10.4% to a record $418.7 million.
