People Moves: Marsh Names Curran US Surety Leader, Schweitzer US Construction Claims Leader; Ryan Alternative Risk Promotes Havey to President

Marsh, headquartered in New York City, appointed Fran Curran as U.S. surety leader and Todd Schweitzer as U.S. construction claims leader.

Based in Philadelphia, Curran is a 24-year veteran of Marsh who most recently served as the Southeast surety practice leader. In his new role, he will oversee Marsh’s team of 100 surety specialists across the country.

Based in San Diego, Schweitzer joined Marsh three years ago as a senior claims advocate specializing in complex construction claims. He brings nearly 40 years of construction claims experience to his new role, where he will lead Marsh’s dedicated U.S. construction claims team.

Ryan Alternative Risk Promotes Havey to President

Ryan Specialty, headquartered in Chicago, promoted Matt Havey to president of its alternative risk underwriting business, Ryan Alternative Risk.

Havey joined Ryan Specialty in April 2024 as senior vice president of underwriting. Prior to Ryan Specialty, Havey served as chief investment officer and managing director of a Vermilion Development. He also previously practiced law as a corporate and securities attorney at Faegre Drinker.

With this promotion, Kieran Dempsey, CEO of Ryan Alternative Risk, separates president from his title.
