Travelers Names Duncan President of Northfield Excess & Surplus
Travelers has named Marsh Duncan its new president of Northfield Excess & Surplus, a specialty division. Marsh will oversee Northfield’s current business while identifying new areas for growth.
Before joining the Hartford, Connecticut-based company, Marsh worked at Argo for 12 years, most recently as president of excess & surplus. He previously held roles with Chubb and Gulf Insurance. Marsh will be based in Atlanta, Georgia.
NFP Welcomes Kapoor as New SVP
Gaurav Kapoor has joined the NFP North America Construction and Infrastructure Group as senior vice president, head of strategy, digital and operations.
Before joining NFP, Kapoor held multiple positions with Marsh, including, most recently, strategy and operations leader for the global construction practice based in London, England. Before this role, Kapoor was Marsh’s national project risk leader for the Canadian construction practice. NFP is headquartered in New York, New York.
Starr Insurance Names Shannon Senior Investment Officer
John F. Shannon has been named senior investment officer of Starr Insurance Companies. He succeeds John Patin, who resigned from his position for personal reasons.
Shannon served as senior vice president and chief investment officer at Alleghany, which Berkshire Hathaway acquired in October 2022. Before Alleghany, Shannon spent more than 11 years at MetLife Investments as vice president, global portfolio management, following five years at Prudential Financial as an investment analyst. Shannon is based in Starr’s New York, New York headquarters.
