December 2, 2021

New digital managing general agency Joyn is expanding its excess and surplus coverage offerings to a total of 28 states plus Washington, D.C.

The majority of the new offerings are excess lines of business in 21 states and Washington, D.C, with seven states seeing expansions into property lines and general liability added to Joyn’s New York offering, which launched earlier this month.

Joyn Insurance Services Inc. is a newly-formed Delaware-domiciled, licensed producer and general agent. Joyn began underwriting in the small and middle market on July 1 of this year.

It is targeting real estate, manufacturing, contractor, retail, wholesale and services industries.

“This marks a significant expansion for Joyn with new lines in every state where we are live,” said Seraina Macia, Joyn’s CEO. She said Joyn will be adding general liability and excess to additional states on January 1, with more lines and states on the way in early 2022.

The coverage expansion adds excess coverage on a supported basis effective Dec. 1, 2021 in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

It offers property lines with a January 1, 2022 effective date in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

It also offers E&S general Liability in New York effective December 1, 2021.
