National Interstate Forms Captive for Towing & Recovery Industry

National Interstate Insurance Company, a specialty property and casualty transportation insurer, has launched TowCap Premier, a group rental captive designed exclusively for the towing and recovery industry.

National Interstate will market TowCap Premier directly through retail brokers, and is currently accepting new members. The insurance coverage includes:

• Auto liability
• Auto physical damage & garagekeepers
• On-hook cargo
• General liability
• Workers’ compensation

National Interstate said the formation of the captive was in response to recent instability in the market, leaving few choices for towing operations.

Available nationally, TowCap Premier launched in late 2017. The product complements National Interstate’s traditional program for fleet towing and recovery operations.

National Interstate Insurance Company offers insurance products and services, including alternative risk transfer programs, focused on the transportation industry. Its customers include passenger, moving and storage, and truck transportation companies.
