Aon’s Burns Joins Ryan Specialty as Chief Digital Officer

Ryan Specialty Group said that Kathy Burns has joined the firm as senior vice president and chief digital officer.

Burns is an expert in the areas of technology, risk management and insurance. She worked at Marsh (Clearsight) from 2002 to 2005 and Crawford & Co. (Risk Sciences Group) from 1996 to 1998. She previously worked at Aon from 1988-1998 and then as CEO of Aon eSolutions from 2006-2015 prior to its spinoff as Ventiv Technology. She remains on Ventiv’s board.

She is based in Chicago.

Patrick G. Ryan, founder, chairman and CEO of Ryan Specialty Group, said Burns will direct and further develop RSG’s client enabling technologies, including The Connector, an excess and surplus lines (E&S) market technology platform for small-and-medium sized accounts that is under development.
