NORCAL Mutual to Expand Med Mal Coverage to 5 Additional States
NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company, a nationwide medical professional liability insurance companies, will begin offering coverage this month to physicians in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and South Carolina. NORCAL will begin offering coverage in Indiana beginning in March. These five states are the latest in NORCAL’s national expansion, which also introduces a new policy to each market that offers enhanced coverages such as cyber liability.
Ron Rumin, senior vice president and chief business development officer of NORCAL, said the expansion in these states will further grow the partnerships developed through its subsidiary company Medicus Insurance Co. Medicus currently serves more than 1,600 healthcare professionals throughout these states.
Healthcare professionals in Oklahoma and Georgia can begin to receive coverage from NORCAL on Feb. 1. Florida and South Carolina physicians will have the choice of NORCAL coverage beginning Feb. 28, and Indiana health care professionals will have the option of NORCAL beginning March 1.
NORCAL Mutual is a policyholder-owned and physician-directed medical professional liability carrier. Its subsidiary companies include PMSLIC Insurance Company and Medicus Insurance Company.
