Kinsale Launches New Law Enforcement/Police Professional Product
Kinsale Insurance Co. has launched a new law enforcement/police professional product. This is the initial product in Kinsale’s recently established Public Entity Division.
Per Clay Rhoades, Kinsale vice president, law enforcement/police professional is the first of many products planned for this new division.
Target accounts include law enforcement/police professional risks including police departments, sheriff agencies, alcohol beverage control boards, college/university housing authorities and other law enforcement departments. Eligible accounts include boroughs, cities, counties, townships and villages’ law enforcement departments serving populations of 100,000 or less. Larger venues may be submitted for underwriting review.
Kinsale targets hard-to-place/distressed accounts that may include those with poor loss history or other risk characteristics that make an account difficult-to-place. Coverage is written non-admitted on either a claims-made or an occurrence basis. Bodily injury, property damage and personal injury are included in the form. Both primary and excess coverage is available for up to $5 million in limits. Coverage may also include operations associated with penal institutions or facilities. Customized coverage is available based on the account.
Kinsale Insurance Co. is an excess and surplus lines insurance company headquartered in Richmond, Va. The company specializes in hard-to-place property, casualty and specialty risks.
