NCCI CEO Klingel to Retire in 2016
The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) announced recently that President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen J. Klingel plans to retire in February 2016.
Kilngel came to the organization in late 2002 and has had the third longest CEO tenure in the company’s 90-plus year history.
Elizabeth Haar, NCCI board chair and president and CEO of Accident Fund Holdings Inc., praised Klingel for delivering “impressive business results and strengthened relationships” with all of NCCI’s stakeholders.
She said the board is forming a search committee to evaluate candidates in the coming months while Klingel continues to run the day-to-day operations of NCCI.
Klingel previously served as the senior vice president of Commercial Lines with The St. Paul Companies. In nearly three decades with St. Paul, he held a variety of roles in the company, including president, Personal Insurance; regional president—Upper Midwest Region; vice president—Commercial Underwriting, and vice president/general manager.
