5Star Specialty Programs Expands Auto Dealer Product

December 6, 2011

5Star Specialty Programs has expanded its Auto Dealers program to 43 states. With these new markets, the coverage is nationwide, except in Ark., Conn., D.C., Hawaii, Mass., Minn., N.J. and R.I.

DEALERsure covers rural and suburban franchised and non-franchised auto and truck dealerships.

“We’ve had inquiries from our retail agents ever since we started this program to provide coverage in more states,” said Michael S. Oliver, senior vice president. “We will continue to work with carriers to expand further.”

The expansion was made possible by an arrangement between 5Star and three markets, but agents only need to use one application. 5Star provides the quote to the retail agent with the appointed market for the state they are applying for coverage in.

DEALERsure is a multi-line property and casualty program with coverages such as garage liability, dealer E&O, fire legal liability, hired auto and other products.

5Star, a division of Crump Group, is targeting a broad array of insureds with this
program. Coverage is available for consignment sales, electric auto sales, golf cart dealers, motorcycle dealers, non-franchised or small franchised retail auto or truck dealers, RV dealers, small auto auctions/wholesale dealers and trailer dealers. Repair shops for the above dealerships are also eligible.
