Western Heritage Creates Garage Division

December 6, 2011

Western Heritage Insurance Company has introduced a garage division to help the company grow its garage offerings and partner with new agents.

“There is tremendous opportunity in the garage niche, especially with small to mid-sized companies,” said Western Heritage president Anthony Washington.

The company is seeking input from general agents on more ways to innovate. It recently introduced valet parking, salvage yards and safety inspection classes. The wholly owned subsidiary of Nationwide also increased binding authority for heavy truck sales and service.

Western Heritage also now allows “you-pull-it” auto dismantlers and safety inspections in the 14 states where they are mandatory.

The new garage unit will be headed up by director Dan Bergman, who joined Western Heritage for the sole purpose of forming the garage division. Bergman comes from Allied Insurance and has 16 years of experience in the insurance industry.

“We want to be the leading market for garage in the E&S industry,” said Director Dan Bergman. “To become the market leader, we will expand our partnerships with agencies specializing in garage, provide new classes of business, and look for areas where we can give our agency partners more binding authority.”

Other members of the garage division will include product line manager Marcia Collette and product specialist Robert Karam.
