Zurich Services Corp. Partners with OSHA Fast Fix for Workplace Safety

March 13, 2008

Schaumburg, Ill.-based Zurich Services Corp.’s risk engineering division recently announced that it is collaborating with OSHA Fast Fix to help Zurich customers improve workplace safety, address the causes of accidents and reduce workers’ compensation claims.

Under this arrangement, Zurich in North America offers customers a private labeled “Zurich Safety Plans” solution with industry-specific safety plans tailored to individual business’ needs. These plans provide a foundation for the business to implement their own effective workplace safety program.

According to Jim Feltz, senior risk engineering consultant at Zurich Services Corporation, “The collaboration will help risk engineering provide a value-added service to our existing loss-control and risk-reduction services for customers.

“Often, smaller businesses don’t have the manpower or expertise to devote to safety plan development,” Feltz says. “By delivering safety plans from OSHA Fast Fix, we can help more of our customers understand their workplace safety issues and help them to improve their safety experience.”

According to Meredith Taylor, president of OSHA Fast Fix, “The safety plans, available in English and Spanish, are personalized for each customer’s business and are written so employees who are not safety professionals can understand them.

“Each plan focuses on individual OSHA regulations and standards so customers can address one safety issue at a time,” Taylor adds. “Included with each plan is a set of self-audit questions that will help customers better address safety issues and take ownership of their safety program.”

According to Feltz, the safety plans can help all types of businesses improve workplace safety. He says, “This customized solution is especially useful to smaller businesses by providing a complete safety program. For large customers with multiple locations, the plans can help provide uniform safety practices throughout their operations.”
