Zurich’s Patton Joins EPA Advisory Board

Lindene E. Patton, senior vice president and counsel in Zurich North America Commercial’s environmental group, has been selected to serve as a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Financial Advisory Board (EFAB). Patton will provide advice and recommendations from a financial services industry perspective for EPA environmental financing programs and remediation projects. EFAB is composed of leading environmental finance experts from all levels of government, the finance, banking, business, industrial and legal sectors, as well as representatives from public interest groups.

“This broad-based group works with EPA in developing solutions to the financial challenges facing environmental programs at all levels of government,” said Patton. “I’m delighted to have this opportunity of working with EPA to find effective, sustainable financing mechanisms necessary for further environmental protection and remediation.”

Patton, who joined Zurich in 1996, manages the insurance company’s environmental underwriting counsel and cost engineering staff, and oversees the underwriting of environmental impairment liability programs. She is an attorney and an American Board of Industrial Hygiene certified industrial hygienist. Patton holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California (UC), Davis, a master’s of public health. in biomedical and environmental health science from the UC Berkeley, and a juris doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law.

For the past 15 years, Zurich has offered a portfolio of environmental insurance solutions, including environmental, real estate, and professional and contractor’s pollution liability products, delivered through a network of 10 offices across the country.
