CIC and CISR Scholarships Awarded at NAIW Convention

The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research recently presented 13 scholarships to NAIW members at the 65th Annual Convention of the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW) held in Orlando, Fla. The CIC and CISR scholarships were awarded at a special recognition luncheon June 2, 2006, in front of a crowd of more than 500 convention participants.

Each scholarship grants full tuition to one program conducted by The National Alliance. Dr. William T. Hold, president of The National Alliance, assisted by Danielle D. Janecka, vice president of The National Alliance, made the presentations.

“The scholarship recipients represent commitment to advanced education as well as to their industry, and are all current, active members of the NAIW,” Dr. Hold said.

CIC Update Scholarship: Ann C. Tharp, Collins Insurance Agency Inc., New Albany, Miss.

CIC Scholarships: Karen A. Malcolm, First Niagara Risk Management, Amherst, N.Y.; April M. Sanborn, Goss Logan Insurance Agency, Lebanon, N.H.; Dianne Welch, Southern Premium Funding, Mulberry Fla.

CISR Update Scholarships: Amy M. Craig, Walker Taylor Agency Inc., Wilmington, N.C.; D. Cunningham, GEICO, Warrenton, Va.

CISR Scholarships: Phyllis Heller, U.S. Detectives, Hillsborough, N.J.; Laura E. Jones, Sky Insurance- Ashtabula, Ashtabula, Ohio; Jennifer Wickersham, Brown & Brown Inc., Lakeland, Fla.

CISR Online Scholarships: Daniella M. Bristol, Glasgow Hicks Company, Wilmington, N.C.; Karen Lawson. Dressel Insurance Group, Gahanna, Ohio; Kylene Moak, Morrell Agency Inc.; Magnolia, Miss.; Kiona Thompson, Frontier General Insurance Agency; Fort Worth, Texas.

The National Alliance and the NAIW have formed a partnership for the benefit of NAIW members and insurance professionals across the country. In addition to initiating the CIC and CISR scholarships, the two organizations have worked together to establish links on their web sites, encourage the promotion of the Outstanding CSR of the Year Award, and promote the sale of publications by The National Alliance Research Academy, the research arm of The National Alliance.
