Northland Rolls Out Non-Fleet Coverage Enhancements

December 20, 2005

Northland Insurance, a subsidiary of St. Paul Travelers, has added two Non-Fleet coverage enhancements to its transportation insurance offerings in many states with a national rollout by the end of 2006. The new coverage includes Family Emergency Travel Coverage, travel cost reimbursement for family members of an injured or deceased trucker, and Deluxe Coverage Endorsement, coverage extensions minimizing deductibles and extra expenses resulting from a loss. The new coverage features provide peace of mind while adding value to the insurance policies of the professional truck driver.

“These programs were designed in direct response to trucker needs. They add value to our products, especially when it comes to helping the small trucker,” said Dale Schueffner, vice president, Agency Services, Northland Insurance. “While other carriers offer some of the pieces, the value and breadth of coverage offered in these packages is currently unmatched.”

Family Emergency Travel Coverage is a value-added coverage supplementing all Non-Fleet policies at no additional charge. Insured independent truckers will be allotted additional coverage to provide for the travel costs of family members visiting a trucker who is injured and hospitalized away from home.

Deluxe Coverage Endorsement is an optional endorsement that can be added to any Non-Fleet policy for an additional charge. Four new coverage extensions can result in a significant cost savings should an insured elect to purchase the Deluxe Coverage Endorsement.

Coverage options include:
— Diminishing Deductible for Physical Damage
— Aggregate Deductible
— Personal Effects Coverage
— Downtime Loss & Rental Reimbursement Coverage
