Selective Insurance Group Names Executive Appointments

Selective Insurance Group Inc. announced the following executive appointments:

John Marchioni (Andover, N.J.), to senior vice president of personal lines underwriting of Selective Insurance Company of America and vice president of Selective Insurance Group Inc. In his new role, he has oversight for implementing the company’s personal lines strategy and managing operations of the personal lines strategic business unit. Marchioni previously served as vice president of Selective’s commercial mercantile/service strategic business unit. He joined Selective in 1998 as a government affairs specialist and was promoted to department director in 2000. Prior to joining Selective, he was vice president, government affairs with the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. Marchioni holds an A.B. in History from Princeton University.

Kathy Muedder (Matthews, N.C.), to senior vice president, casualty line of business manager of Selective Insurance Company of America. In this position, Muedder oversees the commercial casualty underwriting, loss control and premium audit functions at Selective. She joined Selective in May 2005 with extensive casualty underwriting and government affairs experience. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of emerging issues for ACE USA. She is currently on the board of the Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) and has served on the board of directors of the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI). Muedder is a graduate of Roosevelt University, Chicago with a degree in Insurance and is a member of the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW).
